Click here to read the full post>> When was the last time you did something for the first time?September 11, 2011 I've been reflecting on a 'fornight of firsts' over the past few days -first few web pages created, first video series launched, first facebook ad tested, first webinar hosted, first teleseminar delivered, first cruise down the Thames and first gorgeous family bank holiday. I also ran 10km for the first time and got sight of my stomach muscles for the first time in a very long time (is that too much information!)! The thrill of doing something for the first time has always excited me - even with the fear and the overwhelm that can sometimes come when we're not sure what we're doing (or we don't think we can do it), the thrill of completing whatever it is we've set our minds to is exhilarating. I'm hugely proud of what i've achieved so far in 2011 and know without a doubt that it's because i've said 'yes' to one first after another. I'm hugely grateful to have a wonderful family and fabulous friends and i celebrate with them at every available opportunity, but this weekend I also allowed myself a little celebration all by myself! Click here to read the full post>> Who are you being?February 03, 2011 I'm reading Gretchen Rubins 'Happiness Project' at the moment and absolutely loving it - it's one of those books that when you read it you think it's been written just for you :-) She starts by talking about her twelve happiness commandments. These include 'let it go' 'enjoy the process' and 'lighten up', and the one that resonated most with me was 'Be Gretchen'. I have learnt so much about myself over the past year, and particularly since launching Damsels in Cardiff and stepping up to live the life i always dreamed of, and the most important of all the things i've learnt is to 'Be Michelle'. I can be no other - everyone else is taken :-) The more i connect with me, the more i show up as me, the more wonderful life becomes. Click here to read the full post>> gremlins - we all get them, how do you deal with yours?January 29, 2011 I've had a few old gremlins going round my head over the last week - they pop up every now and again just to make sure i'm paying attention i think :-) Anyone else find that?? Sometimes they are just minor irritations and other times i allow them much more power than they deserve. When i give power to them, that's when i get what i call the 3am feeling - that time at night when you suddenly wake up from a gorgeous sleep and all of a sudden your head is spinning. The gremlins take control and it's almost like you can hear them laughing at your doomed attempts to get back to sleep! I'm just sitting here surrounded by all the decorations, cards and presents after a gorgeous family Christmas and I'm reflecting on what has been a wonderful end to an incredible year. So much has changed for me this year, and particularly in the last few months - I've left a career in science that i'd built up over 15 years and launched what truly is the business of my dreams. I am truly grateful for all the wonderful people that have come into my life and the fabulous opportunities that I've had this year. I get so excited at this time of year :-) And I love the build up to Christmas almost as much as the day itself! Especially this year with all the snow...i know it has caused problems for many...but for me it's just made everything feel even more Christmassy (i'm not even sure if that's a real word, but hey, you know what i mean!). December has been a fantastic month for me and for Damsels in Success Cardiff as we had a fabulous second event on the 6th, and then welcomed 7 new members to our growing community. We now have 21 members going into 2011 and i know we will continue to grow into 2011. We have a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop as a community and I can't wait to see what magic and miracles we will create together in the new year.
